Tricks to get the most out of your new Disney Plus subscription

Disney Plus

We tell you some tricks to make the most of the subscription to Disney Plus. Surely, these days you have already found most, but just in case, we give you a series of tips to make the most of the app and its options.

We have been with Disney +, the new Disney streaming platform, for a month and, finally, the company has started to announce new content. Don’t get us wrong, there are a lot of movies (especially those in 4K that the company does not distribute in our country) and series that justify the subscription, but are appreciated news.

In recent days, we have learned that Disney is preparing a new Star Wars series for the platform, the arrival of the Aladdin movie in real action and that on Force Day we will be able to see the most complete edition of Star Wars Episode IX.

Now, it’s time to tell you some tricks to take advantage of the Disney + subscription and get the most out of the application. They are very simple tricks that allow us to enjoy the service more.

Downloads are your friends …

Sure you already know, but Disney Plus allows us to download series and movies to watch when we do not have an online connection. I know that quarantined is not something that makes much sense, but it is good to know for when we can travel again.

Of course, at home I can think of a scenario. For example, if you live with your family or partner and the connection to the network, or the speed, is not very good, you can download what you want to see when the couple is not using the internet. Thus, while she plays or watches another series or content online, on another device we can see the downloaded content.

This device allows you to play multimedia content on your TV or monitor. It also includes the remote control compatible with Alexa.

To download a movie or series from Disney Plus, simply access the content you want … and select the arrow icon that affects the download. In the lower section of the application, you can see what you have downloaded.

Eye! Not everything is available for download … and there are contents that occupy a lot in the memory of the device, so you must be careful if you do not want to fill the memory.

… and Chromecast, too

Something that is available on both Chrome and Android and iOS devices is Disney + compatibility with Chromecast. If you have the Google device, in recent days we have told you some tricks to take advantage of it, such as games for this quarantine or how to turn Chromecast into karaoke.

To share Disney + content on the TV, all you have to do is go to the “send screen” icon in the upper left corner of the app. Press, select the receiving device … and voila. To enjoy on the big screen.

Add content to your list

There are times when we want to see a movie of a certain type and, while browsing its search, we find others that we want to see, but that we do not feel like at that time. The solution is to add those contents to a list to see later.

In Disney + it is called “my list”, and all you have to do to fill that list is to browse the app and press the “+” button that appears next to the play content. To see the movies and series that we have been saving, we must go to our profile icon and select “my list”“.

Use parental controls

Although Disney Plus is characterized by having content that does not exceed the +16 category, some parents may want their little ones not to see those from Star Wars or The Avengers due to the presence of creatures or violence.

For this, you have to activate the parental control, and it is as simple as creating a new account with the “child profile” option activated.

Share your account (all legally)

Yes, the Disney + account can be shared legally, since Disney has advertised it.

All you have to do is create the main account with your email and password and pass those credentials to whoever you want to enjoy the service. That user can create their profile in the app.

Many movies have DVD / Blu-Ray extras

Something that makes me think about movies on Netflix or HBO is that they have no extras. I am one of those who always wear them after seeing it to hopefully see a “how it was done” and other details of the production, and the good news is that at Disney + we have extras.

When you click on a movie, you have an extras section right at the beginning. It is one of the best things you can do to take advantage of the subscription to Disney Plus, since they are usually the same ones that we have on Blu-Ray or DVD.

Adjust consumption and download size

Disney + allows us to consume by streaming or, as we have mentioned, by download. There are two options to adjust the bandwidth consumption and adjust the desired download quality so that it occupies more or less on the device.

If you go to your profile, you have an option called “Application settings”. It is very basic and, there, you can control the bandwidth with mobile data, as well as the downloads.

You can select to download only via Wi-Fi and the video quality of that download.

Enable or disable auto play

Another trick to take advantage of the subscription is to adjust whether we want the chapters to be played in a series in a series … or not.

It is an option that I do not understand why it is where it is, but good. To control this, you must go to your profile and select the “Edit profile” option. There you can change your icon and name, but also select if you want the chapters to be played one after the other … or not.

Finally, almost all systems have the Disney + app

We finish these recommendations to make the most of the subscription to Disney Plus talking about the systems in which it is available. Although the service landed months behind the United States, the truth is that it has arrived ready to be installed on many devices.

We leave you the list below …
