Working with a Business Coach – what to expect.
How Sessions Are Structured
Sessions are typically held on a monthly basis, lasting around an hour. As with anything in life, the more you put in the more you will get out of it. Sessions are agenda-led, meaning that prior to each meeting you discuss the matters you would like to go through that month and tackle.
The Goals You Work On
Business coaching involves looking at specific goals such as setting a fair price for your work, delegating tasks to others in the business and identifying who can do what, setting growth targets and outlining the steps you need to take to reach them. We look at decisions involved in running and growing a small business such as hiring, planning and cash flow.
How a Coach Keeps You Accountable
This means between each session the coach sets the client between 3-4 tasks that need to be completed before their next meeting. The coach then at the following session checks on the client’s progress for each task set, enabling them to track their progression.
What Business Coaching Does Not Cover
Business coaching is not consultancy, and therefore you will not get a finished plan or have work done for you. The role of business coaching is to help you think more clearly and act more deliberately than you may have done previously.
Judging Whether It Is Working
You should start to see some results within 2-3 months.

If after 2-3 months there is no progress or it feels that it is not working for you then it is worth reviewing whether it is for you.
